Dr Forrest Cheung
Hello, I am Forrest. I am a dedicated young researcher specializing in sleep disorders and youth mental health. I earned my PhD from the University of Hong Kong in November 2022 and have since served as a postdoctoral research fellow. Over the past five years, I have been actively involved in sleep and circadian science research. My research interests include circadian rhythm sleep disorders, insomnia, and adolescent mental health. I have contributed to numerous epidemiological studies and clinical trials in these areas. I am extensively trained in using actigraphy and polysomnography and have been a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) since 2021. My latest research projects focus on examining the role of circadian rhythm in the pathophysiology of adolescent insomnia and investigating the effects of light therapy on sleep and mood outcomes.
I recently left my role at the HKU Sleep Lab to pursue further opportunities in the UK. I am committed to advancing scientific knowledge in adolescent sleep and promoting healthy sleep habits among the young population.
Research Interest: circadian rhythm; chronobiology; sleep disorders; insomnia; chronotherapeutics; CBT for insomnia
